Throughout our lives, we all experience times when we feel depressed, anxious or tired. Throughout our lives we have developed behaviours and rituals, which keep us safe and help us through those difficult periods.
However, you may have reached that point in your life where they are no longer working.
Counselling can offer a safe place where you can explore your thoughts and behaviours to better understand them. This can help you create a deeper level of self-awareness and possibly a new way of being.
Acknowledging that you need help and support can be daunting and scary. Reaching out to someone can create feelings of weakness, failure or shame.
You have made that difficult decision, and if we choose to work together I will offer you empathy, acceptance and honesty whilst challenging your thought process and behaviours to help you understand yourself, and promote growth and change.
Relationships are powerful forces and it is the relationship we will build together that will promote growth and change, as well as developing more effective coping strategies. Through our relationship we will explore your past, to better understand your present and create a new affect for your future. We will explore your feelings, how your body responds to any ignored feelings and help reconnect your mind, body and spirit to become a more wholesome you. We will challenge the behaviours and expectations of self and others, to develop more beneficial relationships in your future.

Please note, I do not always check my messages at the weekend. We will initially have a 20 minute telephone consultation to discuss your needs and expectations and how we can work together. If we are happy to proceed, we will arrange our first session either at The Practice Rooms, on a Walk and Talk or via Zoom; (Please note: Before the Walk and Talk sessions can begin, we will initially meet either via Zoom or at The Practice Rooms). Sessions are usually weekly to develop the replationship but can become fortnightly.
I believe we are all capable of growing and changing, but it is easier to do it with someone by your side than to struggle alone. I offer you that support, a place where your voice will be heard, your life history will be comforted, and your behaviours accepted yet challenged.
